Coral Lewis, MPT, FCAMPT, IMS/FDN
My professional journey over the past 10 years in the kinesiology, rehabilitation and physiotherapy field has exposed me to variety of educationally rich and rewarding clinical settings. I have had the opportunity to establish thriving physiotherapy practices in both Vancouver and Seattle prior to returning to my roots here in the Cowichan Valley.
As a mother with a passion for running, rowing, and pilates, I understand the importance of optimizing physical function in order to achieve a well balanced and healthy lifestyle. An integral component of my practice is assisting clients to regain their strength, mobility and function to return to what they love. With a strong background in the assessment and treatment of orthopaedic injuries and movement dysfunction, I focus on addressing the root cause of the injury. I have worked extensively with spinal pain, running and rowing injuries, work place injuries and whiplash care; however, I find great satisfaction in treating all injuries with a special interest in back and neck pain, pelvic pain, postural dysfunction, ankle and foot injuries, headache care, shoulder rehabilitation, knee rehabilitation and chronic pain.
After graduating with a Masters in Physiotherapy from UBC, my passion for learning, staying up to date and providing the highest quality care motivated me to continue my educational journey to gain certifications in medical acupuncture, IMS/dry needling, and complete an advanced fellowship certification in manual and manipulative physiotherapy through the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. My treatment philosophy is a holistic, full-body approach combining techniques in manual therapy/manipulation, postural/movement correction, soft tissue release, medical acupuncture, IMS/dry needling, postural taping, core retraining and therapeutic exercise.
Outside of the clinic you will find me hiking with my family, reading, tending to my garden and enjoying the adventures of raising a young child. I'm always looking for the next grand adventure!
